If you have a lot of debris or aggregate material to move, then an Articulated Dump Truck (ADT) is one of the best ways to handle it. Within the lineup of Bell ADT models, the Bell Trucks B40E falls right around in the middle, giving you excellent power and performance, without going overboard or coming up short of what you might need. This is the perfect option if you are worried that something like the B20E might be too light-duty, but you also know that you do not need anything quite as powerful as a B60E.

The Bell E Series of Trucks

Within the lineup of the Bell E Series of ADT models, you will find some of the most impressive trucks on the market, with fantastic features that help you get the job done more quickly and effectively. Every truck in the Bell E Series includes a Mercedes-Benz engine with an Allison transmission that makes it easy to use and provides incredible performance. All of these models, including the Bell Trucks B40E, include permanent six-wheel drive with an exhaust brake system that helps ensure controlled descent on even the steepest of slopes.

These trucks include onboard weighing, which provides the truck operator and others with load weight information in real-time, making it easier to avoid overloading while in use. You also get a host of excellent safety features in the Bell E Series, including a rear suspension designed to help keep the rear wheels on the ground during use, and a safe tip function that prevents lifting of the rear bin if the rear chassis roll exceeds a pre-set value. In addition to this, you can set speed control limits on these trucks to better ensure safe use at your job site, plus there is an automatic parking brake and hill assist to help prevent uncontrolled movements while on an incline.

We would argue that the most impressive feature of the Bell E Series, however, is the Fleetm@tic system that makes it easy for you to monitor your trucks at all times. This is a computer system that tracks data about your truck’s performance and sends that information to you, which you can view on your phone, tablet, or computer. This provides you with information about load weights and can warn you about potential safety issues. You can even see if a truck is being abused or if an error has occurred, no matter where you are, so you always have eyes on the machines at your job site.

Is the Bell Trucks B40E Right for You?

If you want an ADT that can handle a lot of work, falling into the “just right” segment of the E Series lineup, then the B40E is a great choice. This model is just about in the middle of the Bell E Series of trucks and gives you all of the incredible features of this series along with plenty of power. There are some bigger options if you need more, as well as smaller ones for lighter work, but this is a fantastic overall choice. It starts off with a 12.8L Mercedes-Benz engine that delivers up to 510 hp and 1,755 lb-ft of torque for truly impressive power.

The Bell Trucks B40E has a bin with a struck capacity of 25 cu.yd. and an SAE 2:1 capacity of 31 cu.yd. It has an SAE 1:1 capacity of 37 cu.yd. and an SAE 2:1 capacity with the tailgate of 32 cu.yd. The B40E has a payload rating of nearly 86,000 lbs and a dumping system that can raise the bin in 11 seconds and lower it in 6 seconds, with a tipping angle of 70 degrees, though you can program it to a lower angle as needed. All of this comes together to give you a lot of power and the ability to get your work done quickly and very efficiently.
